Advantages of VoIP

Filed under: Telecommunication — admin @ 4:00 pm

VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, is rapidly becoming a top choice for people wishing to avoid costly telephone service. Why? The system works by allowing you to make phone calls using a computer network, such as your Internet provider. The way it works is similar to email; most providers offer unlimited long-distance calling for a low monthly fee or for a low per-minute rate. Where long-distance fees can run high very quickly through traditional phone providers, Voice over IP can provide the same types of calls for a much lower rate. VoIP is the calling choice of the future, and providers are already scrambling to provide the best service for the best price. For the consumer, this is great news. As companies compete for business, rates and service options continue to improve. Why will you love VoIP? The following are three top reasons.

Huge Savings
Imagine being able to keep your current phone number and make as many long distance calls as you wish (within a certain area) for one low price. No more fluctuating phone bills, outrageous long distance charges, or other surcharges that repeatedly shows up on your bill. Voice over IP offers just that. Just as email changed how people communicate, so too will VoIP.

Depending on the provider you choose, you may be able to combine your Internet service with your phone service into one lower monthly bill. As VoIP becomes more common, it will be available in more areas. However, even for those who are not yet able to change their local number to Voice over IP, there is still the option of switching your long distance. This requires a phone number outside of your area code, but the savings will be well worth it. Further, if you make many phone calls to a particular area code, choose a number from that area and your contacts will be able to call you as if it were a local call. Not a bad way to go while you’re waiting for local service!

Options
Voice over IP comes with many options, including both the ones you are used to as well as some new ones. Imagine checking your phone calls through your computer while you are traveling, or having an email sent to you every time you have a new voice mail message! The technologies that integrate your computer and your phone service are opening up a whole new playing field in communications. VoIP combined with your computer, mobile phone, and other gadgets will keep you more connected than ever. Of course, if you choose not to be connected, that is possible as well. Many Voice over IP providers include features you’re used to, such as caller ID, call waiting, and call forwarding. You may also have the option to block callers, use an “away” message, or “do not disturb” options.

Additional features may include three-way calling (again avoiding costly charges), speed dialing, distinctive rings, and many other options. Moreover, if you don’t want to give up some of the benefits to which you’ve become accustomed, many providers offer directory assistance (for a fee, although this could change) and the ability to access 911 emergency personnel, which is a concern for many people.

It’s Not Going Anywhere
VoIP is the future of calling. As the technology evolves, more and more integration options will come available. Depending on the use, you may be ready to switch over now and enjoy the cost savings. For home users, switching to Voice over IP can be a very cost-saving option, particularly for those who make many long-distance calls. Home-based businesses may also benefit from switching. Larger business may do well to wait a bit, or start integrating the technology on a smaller scale. As VoIP evolves, so too will options for larger businesses.

When making the switch to VoIP, do a bit of research to choose the best option. Avoid getting locked-into a long-term contract, as new providers are competing with existing ones, and you’ll want to take advantage of better rates and services if the come along. The basic information to look into includes:

* If local numbers are available in your area.
* If you can call 911 emergency services.
* What the flat rate is for long-distance calling.
* What geographic areas are included in the unlimited long-distance plan.
* The services available and extra costs, such as directory assistance.
* The terms of the contract.

Best Laptops Officially Mass Market

Filed under: Universe Of Technology — admin @ 6:56 pm

The times where gaming notebooks were a specialist market are fading very rapidly. They were simply like a small volume production plant. Did not ship many but produced a lot of cash on each system. Surely I could confidently say everybody wanted one though. Everybody reckoned they were the best laptops and rightly so. Having mentioned that the majority of us most likely didn’t buy laptops of this kind because of the price. As of late it looks likes larger manufacturers are all coming into the market very quickly and things are changing.

In my point of view they could get off by selling them at a greater price if they wanted. Nowadays the average notebook computer margins are so thin so it presents the opportunity for them to regain the gross margins. Small companies not able compete with them in convincing people to buy laptops. This is an enormous threat to smaller specialist system builders. Now gaming notebooks will no longer be seen as a specialist market. Obviously the power of an established brand name comes into use here.

With that these systems are also considered to be the best laptops already, even when they really aren’t. This is possibly the only service that smaller companies can offer that the larger brands cannot. The custom build feature is a big bonus to the consumer. These kinds of prospects more often then not are well informed on the technology and would compare spec for spec. The details are important for this sort of buyer.

This is all excellent from the purchasers way of seeing things. In the end the cost will decline further and more gamers will be able to buy such advanced technology. Even though that is my take on it, its just my point of view and most likely not what will happen. High prices should stay and be expected with the newest laptops is what I am guessing. More competition traditionally creates improved technology at cheaper prices so the future should be promising.

After Image Mind Control of Objects Directions

Filed under: House Of Videos — admin @ 12:15 pm

Have you ever looked at an object and then closed your eyes and it is still there in your mind, as if you are looking at it on your eyelid? It looks like a negative print from the photo lab doesn’t it? This after image generally is recorded in our memory. Do this for me now. Look at something around you and now close your eyes, do you see what I mean now? Good, now what I want you to do is to do the same thing only this time close your eyes and then move the after image in your mind and then open your eyes. Notice your mind recorded the moved image, but the image is still right where you put it right?

Now then what if we hook your brain up to a wave device which would send out a pulse to that object you just imagined moved and the wave device sends out a pulse, laser, microwave or something else, which actually would move the object simply by thought? Did you know that your figure tips can exert about 1 watt of energy out of them? What if you could boost that to lets say 1,000,000 watts thru technology attached to your hand? Or hooked directly to a computerized device?

Now then what if you are immersed in augmented or a virtual reality setting and the device was hooked up to your brain and was a tele-robotic unit on the Moon? Too far out for you? Okay lets back up. What if you are in your living room and playing on your xbox and you could move the character in the video game on your flat panel display this way? Well, now you are starting to see the principle on this concept. So now I ask you where do you want to go today? Consider this in 2006.

Property Index — the Intra National Property Web Site

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:51 am

Regardless the fact that the Property Index service is only a young firm, founded in March 2007, they were fast to prove their mettle. In point of fact a extremely artless firm entirely dedicated to offering their expert guidance to every visitor meaning to let, sell, rent or buy property in a globalized world. Their promise is to help you hit upon dead-on what you desire quickly and, further, sans hassle.

Property can be purchased in most popular areas of the world nowadays, one of the really elite areas being property on the market in France. It’s a no brainer to write up the superb real property for sale in France, one motive for selecting properties here being properties available for sale and the chance to live amid this vigorous and passionate people. It is one of the truly popular countries nowadays, and with the scenic splendor and great sunshine surrounding you all the time, how could you be wrong. Property in France is immersed in culture, art and history, this area of the world is and has always been home to numerous sophisticated nations.

There are a range of properties in France for sale on Property Index, from villas to apartments.

Some 25 or 30 years ago there’d be merely a trickle of Englishmen keen on real property in France. Ask just about anyone who has chosen to remove to France and they’ll certainly back this up. Many would will insist on viewing it as a temporary rage and others will insist on viewing it as a close to a fetish. People looking to move to this place may extend from young freshly weds who are looking for a challenge in life to retirees looking to enjoy their retirement. Bear in mind, however, that you may hit on a few predicaments when looking to buy real property in a foreign country - there are obviously hundreds of different, not entirely logical, actions whether devising a plan, inspecting or buying. Even if but a single step is missed that is liable to engender far-reaching predicaments not to forget, critically, money loss.

As you will expect with this sought after destination, real property might well be unbelievably high-priced in this region which is simply on account of the expanding buyer demand. Despite this the real estate buyer is very spoilt in terms of choice in such a location so wonderful in terms of shining geography and fabulous setting. It presently has the whole lot a real estate buyer might require, and more.

Choosing a Mortgage Lender

Filed under: Biz — admin @ 3:03 pm

Just as there are many types of mortgages and mortgage deals to choose from, there are also many sources where you can go to get a mortgage. Your key choices are to use a mortgage broker, a more general financial adviser, or shop around yourself and go direct to the mortgage lender. For many people, choosing a lender means finding a mortgage company offering the lowest APR rate.

If you decide to use an adviser you can choose between a specialist mortgage broker and a general financial adviser. A general adviser will look at all your financial affairs if you want, not just your mortgage. As opposed to lenders who can only offer their own products, an adviser can look at the whole market for you and consider mortgages from a number of lenders. Advisers can also offer you advice and information tailored to your needs. In the UK, All firms or Individuals arranging or advising on mortgages must be authorised to do so by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). If you are unhappy with advice from an authorised firm you usually have the right to complain and may be able to claim compensation.

As an alternative to using a financial adviser, you can arrange a mortgage directly with a lender - like a building society, bank or specialist mortgage company. A lender will only recommend their own mortgage products although they may have several you can choose from.

When choosing a lender, you should consider the competitiveness of the lender’s rates, their fees and penalties, their customer service and their reputation. You’ll also want a lender you can trust, and someone you can work with effectively. Remember you’ll have to deal with this company for many years to come.

1. Building Societies
Building societies are mortgage experts, they offer specialist advice and they usually offer very competitive rates. Many national ones have a branch in most major towns and cities while the smaller ones tend to specialise in catering for home buyers in particular areas. For example, the Cambridge Building Society specializes in helping people who live in Cambridgeshire.

2. High Street Banks
Banks usually have years of lending experience and they have more branches and greater coverage across the United Kingdom. Their standard rates tend to be higher than those of building societies but they often offer the best introductory offers on mortgage deals. Some of the big banks now have special arrangements with building societies where the building society is the one that handles all the mortgage business for the bank.

3. Specialist Mortgage Lending Companies
Specialist lenders lend to a particular type of niche market. Many of these specialise in providing mortgages for people in special circumstances who would not normally be offered a loan by their bank or building society. This includes people with adverse credit, the self-employed, part-time employed and those purchasing overseas properties. Many mainstream lenders have established specialist subsidiaries for non-standard mortgages such as these. You may have to deal with them over the phone, by mail or over the internet as most of them do not have a wide network of branches across the country.

4. Insurance Companies
Some insurance companies offer mortgages and other financial products together with their range of insurance products. They may sometimes offer certain deals in association with other financial institutions such as banks but they do not specialise in this area and they may not necessarily offer the best rates.

5. Intermediaries and Mortgage Brokers
Instead of going directly to the lender for a mortgage, you can approach an advisor or broker to search the market for the best mortgage deal for you. Some intermediaries are tied to particular lenders and they may only offer products from their lender. Others are independent so they have a much wider market to choose from. A credit broker is a firm or person who introduces you to a lender for the purpose of borrowing money. The task of the credit broker is to obtain the loan you require on terms that are acceptable to you.

Whatever you decide, it’s important to understand how mortgages are regulated and sold in the United Kingdom. Buying with advice puts you in a stronger position to complain and get compensation if you later discover that the mortgage is unsuitable. How To Diet For Lean Muscle Gains - Focus On Vegetables And High-Protein Foods

Filed under: Biz — admin @ 10:40 am

If you are wondering how to diet for lean muscle gains, the most important thing that you should keep in mind is that you should reduce your intake of fatty foods. This is not possible to do entirely, but if you are eating a lot of highly fatty foods, you should reduce them to be no more than 20% of your daily caloric intake. We also recommend that you limit your selection to healthy unsaturated fats. It is also interesting to note that people who severely restrict their fat intake (below the 20% mark) will not look healthy; their hair will be brittle, their skin will be dry and they tend to have terrible mood swings and be very ill-tempered.

You should also cut out any empty carbohydrates as well - for instance, foods that are very high in sugar but lack nutrients, such as cookies, candy bars and other highly processed foods. This will make you feel more healthy overall, give you more energy and it will also enable you to get the nutrients that you will need to build muscle.

We recommend that you keep a food diary for one week and then review your typical caloric intake during one week. Then reduce the calories by 15% in order to lose fat. If you’re interested in gaining lean muscle, however, you will need to increase your calories by 15% - BUT you MUST divide all your food amongst six small meals per day in order to have the food convert to muscle rather than fat. North America’s habit of eating 2 or 3 large meals per day causes our bodies to act in the “feast or famine” mode of our early ancestors and thus causes our body to naturally store energy as fat. When you start to distribute your daily food intake between five to six meals a day it relieves the “feast or famine” program that your body has and your body will lose more fat, thus food will be converted into muscle gain.

Eat Natural and Organic Foods That Are Low Glycemic

When it comes to how to diet for lean muscle gain, some people swear by already-formulated foods and meal replacements. While those can help you sometimes - especially by helping you get enough protein in your diet - they are not the best option for you. If you are trying to gain muscle, then you should make sure that you’re eating healthy foods - which generally means that you are cooking the food yourself from scratch with raw ingredients.

The best lean muscle gaining diets for are similar to low carb diets, though less extreme. (You will still need carbohydrates so that you have enough energy to exercise). You should put a lot of emphasis on foods that are high in protein, like meat (such as skinless chicken breasts and lean beef), nuts, and some legumes, as well as on vegetables. The high protein foods will give your body the protein that it needs to build muscle mass, while the vegetables will give you the nutrients and fiber that will keep you healthy. With this diet, you will have everything you need to build the muscles that you want - but you won’t be eating too much, either.

It is also important to remember that low glycemic foods tend to be the healthiest food choice. The Glycemic Index is a measure of how much your blood sugar (glucose) rises after eating carbohydrate foods. High glycemic foods cause a surge in blood sugar, thus increasing insulin, and you will get hungrier sooner. Thus, you will be tempted to overeat.

High Glycemic foods are most grains and grain products (both whole wheat and white), cookies, candies, candy bars, breakfast cereals, grain based snack foods such as taco chips, corn, potatoes (these are highly starchy foods), bananas, most dried fruits and tropical fruits (tropical fruits tend to be sweeter than non-tropical fruits), fruit juices, honey and table sugar.

Low Glycemic foods are legumes (lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans, and most other beans), many fruits such as cherries, blackberries and most other berries, plums, peaches and grapes, dairy products such as milk, yogurt and kefir, non-starchy vegetables such as broccoli, Swiss chard, bok choy, lettuce, celery and kale.

If you follow these guidelines will be on your way to a stronger, leaner body and you will enjoy all the other side benefits of losing fat: more strength, increased energy, more endurance, a smaller waistline, visibly sexier abs and better health!

Cambodian Taxi Chaos - a Leaf, a Radiator and a MacGyver Moment

Filed under: Biz — admin @ 2:33 pm

The roads in Cambodia are vicious, angry slabs of asphalt filled with potholes that would qualify as valleys in some countries. Fortunately, I had it made traveling from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh. Or so I thought.

Cambodian Taxis

Having spent two weeks in the relaxing beach town of Sihanoukville, I was getting bored and so were the three chaps traveling with me. It was time to head to the supposed chaos of Phnom Penh and eventually Angkor Wat. Despite the legendary reputation of Cambodian roads, the owner of our accommodations told us the road to Phnom Penh was smooth as glass. For twenty U.S. dollars, a local taxi would get all four of us to the city without incident.

Around noon, two Australians, an Englishman and myself crammed into a Toyota Camry with our backpacks and miscellaneous junk. Our driver was a good guy, smiling constantly. We did have a communication problem since he spoke about two words of English and we only spoke English. The road, however, was as smooth as promised and we congratulated ourselves on our stroke of luck.

For about an hour, we cruised through the placid Cambodian countryside. It was difficult to imagine the chaos that must have occurred when the Khmer Rouge was in power. There really wasn’t much to see beyond the occasional village. About half way through the trip, the lack of any sizeable towns became a concern.

In the proverbial middle of nowhere, our driver pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the car. Since we couldn’t verbally communicate, much finger pointing was undertaken. Were we lost? Did he want more money? Was he going on strike? What the heck was going on?

Eventually, we foreign idiots were able to decipher that the car was overheating. Lest you think us complete idiots, I must mention that the temperature gauge wasn’t working.
Regardless, our driver popped the hood and our smooth trip came to a cracked end. Steam poured from a half-inch crack next to the radiator crap.

Road site assistance seemed an iffy prospect in the middle of Cambodia. I mean, you couldn’t really call your car insurance company.

Me: “Hi. My car is broken.”

Operator: “Okay, we will send someone out. Where are you?”

Me: “Um, somewhere in the middle of Cambodia.”

Operator: “…[hysterical laughter]… Click.”

The driver looked at us. We looked at him. Simultaneously, we all started laughing. What else could you do? We were in the middle of nowhere, the radiator was shot and it was 60 miles or so to Phnom Penh.

Looking back, I can tell you that Cambodian taxi drivers are a committed and creative group. We sat on the side of the road, contemplating the fact that we were about to have a much more authentic Cambodian experience then any of us had planned. Mysteriously, our driver had gone off into the brush on the side of the road. After a few minutes, he returned with a dark green leaf and a big smile.

Putting MacGyver to shame, he proceeded to patch the crack in the radiator using only the leaf and tube of superglue. We all moved back as he applied the superglue to the boiling hot radiator, but nothing went up in flames. After allowing for a suitable amount of time for drying/praying, all we needed was water.

Although admittedly not a car expert, I do know pouring cold water into the radiator of an overheating engine is a bad idea. MacGyver, err… our driver, didn’t bat an eye despite our extensive arm waving. With a big smile, the water went into the radiator as we watched in horror. The only question was what would happen first, the leaf patch bursting or the engine seizing up?

Well, you can guess how it turned out. Not only did we make it to Phnom Penh, we later learned the radiator had two other leaf patches on the bottom. The road had been smooth, but my nerves were still shot. One way or another, the roads of Cambodia will get you.

At least I have ample ammunition to mock MacGyver fans.

How to Track Your Website’s Statistics

Filed under: Biz — admin @ 2:30 am

Your website’s vital statistics do not have to remain a mystery to you if you install a good web page counter or Internet tracking system. While web page counters offer on-page display showing you the approximate number of visitors to your page, more advanced Internet tracking systems provide detailed website traffic statistics online as well as off-line. Which counter or tracking system is the best? It all depends on your needs. Below you will find a description of the different types of counters and trackers that are currently available.

The earliest web page counters were numerical display counters powered by cgi scripts. These counters are still available. Some web hosting companies have pre-installed counter scripts which enable any of their clients to install a counter by just adding a piece of code to their html pages. It is also possible to search online and find a cgi script that will generate a counter, however, successful installation of cgi scripts can be a headache if you are not a “nerd” so if your hosting company does not offer easily installed counters, it might be wiser to look at other options.

If your web hosting company does not offer easy to install counters, check to see if they have any other statistical support. Many hosting companies have system-wide statistical programs such as Webalizer or Awstats. These programs provide detailed traffic statistics for any of the domains that are hosted with that company. If your hosting company offers this service, then you will not have to do any kind of installation. All you will have to do is log into the area where your statistics are displayed.

The statistics measured by these programs include: total visits, unique visits, IP numbers of visitors, referring websites, referring search engines, keyword searches used in search engine referred visits and many other statistics that can be used by you to improve the performance of your website.

Log Analysis and Internet Tracking Systems

If your hosting company does not offer any statistical support or counters, then find out where your site’s access logs are stored. Download these logs and run them through a log analysis program such as Open Webscope or Sawmill. Log analysis programs give easy to read statistics not only for your home page but for all the pages of your site. You will be able to find out which of your pages were visited the most, which were visited the least, and where visitors entered your site and left it. Most importantly you will find out which search engines sent you traffic, and which keywords and keyword phrases were used in the queries that took people to your site.

In the event that your host does not offer you easy access to your website logs, then another way to view your website statistics is to install a java script tracker on your home page and other pages of your site. These Internet trackers are offered by several companies. You will have to sign up for the service, and then paste a piece of java script on your web page or web pages. Upload the modified pages to your server and you will be ready to start reading your stats. You will have to go online and log in to your account to view these statistics.

Perhaps the last word in tracking systems is Google Analytics. Google recently purchased the highly regarding Urchin web statistics software and has installed it on their servers for use by their customers. They are presently offering a free, beta service. While some commentators have expressed concern that Google will gain too much information from its users, it looks like Google Analytics will become a leading website statistic service, especially if it can provide detailed information that will enable users to optimize their pay per click advertising campaigns. Currently Google Analytics is over-subscribed and Google is placing applicants on a waiting list

Some of the Internet trackers are free, some are supported by advertising and some of them are paid services. If you have a personal site and want a general idea of how many visitors you are getting, then a simple web page counter may be enough for you. If you need more detailed information, then log analysis or a sophisticated tracking solution would be best for you. Choose the one that is best suited to your needs.
