The thing about home games is that the hours are a bit awkward sometimes. I dealt from about 10pm-4am. So, while the 6 hour window was not a long period of time, it was at an unconventional hour.
The entertainment casino nights are always fun, only last about 3 or 4 hours and generally pay $20 an hour. You can get some great experience on playing against amateurs and learning amateur tells. These are nighttime gigs as well, but generally in the area of 6pm-midnight, so public transportation is still available and you feel like a normal person.
The experience of seeing hands through dealing is almost as valuable as playing them, and you’re never losing money!
