Dandelions are such a common weed in lawns and in parks, it’s hard to imagine that they are not native to North America. Dandelions were intentionally introduced to the Americas from Europe, where they were considered a beneficial plant due to their nutritional and medicinal value.
The name of the plant comes not from its golden mane, but rather from the serrated leaves of the weed, which form an outline like lion’s teeth (thus the name “dent de lion”, or teeth of the lion).
Dandelion seeds can be blown into your yard from miles away, so it is virtually impossible to prevent new plants from popping up periodically, especially if your neighbors are less than diligent in their own lawn maintenance.
If your lawn is mostly weed-free and you see a new dandelion plant sprout up, pull the whole plant, including all the roots, out as soon as possible. Do not let it go to seed.
You’ll need to check on the area for the next few weeks to ensure you got all the roots. A new dandelion plant can be regenerated from less than one inch of remaining root, so complete removal and subsequent checking is important.
If your lawn is very large, or contains a very large number of dandelion infestations, you may wish to resort to herbicides. Common herbicides in use in various parts of North America are glyphosate (i.e. Roundup®), triclopyr (i.e. Garlon®), and mecoprop or MCPP (i.e. Trimec®). Be aware, however, that some of these herbicides are deemed to be health hazards, and some municipalities prohibit their use.
Smaller lawns can be maintained quite easily with dandelion knives and other tools designed to remove the weed.
To pull a dandelion plant, first thoroughly water the area around the plant, then use a weed knife or dandelion digger to loosen the soil around the roots. Use the tool to lever the root out of the soil. If the root feels like it will break rather than come out, add more water and reposition the tool.
Some of the new tools created for dandelion removal include a blade that attaches to a drill to extract the root, and a water powered weeder that uses a high-pressure stream of water to create a hole beside the root, making the plant easy to pull out.
Pulled weeds can be composted as long as they have not yet set seed, and they are dead. Let pulled dandelions wither and die in the sun till before adding them to your composter.
And if the dandelions eventually win the war on your lawn, you can at least make use of them. The plants have high vitamin and mineral content, the roots and leaves can be used to make tea, the leaves and flowers can also be used in salad, or to make beer and wine.

Bankruptcy is a legal action filed by an individual who is unable to pay her debt. Once filed, all the civil legal proceedings related to the home loan will be stopped. Therefore, a home loan creditor must cease all collection activity, including foreclosure. But, a home loan lender may be given a break from the imposed stay, and if it is granted, can go ahead with the aforementioned process. Bankruptcy will not stop foreclosure and you have to repay your loan. Going into bankruptcy only makes the foreclosure continue slower; it will not resolve the issue.
Often, individuals might have to opt between filing for bankruptcy or permitting their mortgage lender to foreclose on their property. If monthly house payments are not received, the financial institution will likely file for a foreclosure on the property. Nothing short of paying the mortgage on schedule is assured block the foreclosure proceedings. Mortgage loans are much like car loans, if you can not make your monthly payments you always will have it repossessed. Foreclosure will be very same for all who have not been able to pay their house loan; the bank will begin foreclosure proceedings.
Even though bankruptcy does not halt foreclosure for good, it might allow a person more time to repay the overdue portions or at a minimum makes it tiny bit more accessible to repay the mortgage lender. Insolvency proceedings requires that a lender to suspend a foreclosure action, a debtor will have a short time to produce the money necessary to pay the lender. Bankruptcy is the final option for all debtors. This will eventually happen when she is totally incapable of meeting their creditor’s commitments. With bankruptcy, some unsecured debt will in all likelihood be discharged but the mortgage will not. The home loan borrower has to be willing to repay the real estate loan inside the required time as the debt is guaranteed by real assets. Also, Chapter 13 insolvency has a pay schedule that is court ordered, that lets the home owner make payments on his real estate loan to get caught up on their mortgage payments.
It is not everybody meets the standards for bankruptcy and if they do meet the standards, there will be legal fees. Possibly, it might cost the home owner more in legal fees than if they were to just buckle down and continue making home loan payments. If you are of the mind that declaring bankruptcy will be a benefit to the situation, an attorney will probably be capable of answering any questions. Because bankruptcy is really complicated and detailed, the borrower really ought not set about to do it without help from a a lawyer.

There is literally thousands of different colors, different patterns even different types of wallpaper. How do you know which color, or which pattern will suit it’s surroundings the best? Read on, and you will have a good idea!
Color / Pattern - This for the most part is a personal chose; However there are simple things you can do to choose a color/pattern that will actually work. If you like the hot pink wallpaper and the rest of your house is done in marble I would recommend shying away from your personal preference and going with something that is going to last and add value to your home not take away from it. There are several guides that can help you pick colors that match it’s surroundings and that fit in. A simple rule is choose like color’s and tones. For example if your thinking green, and the opposite wall is maroon. Choose a green that is the same tone as the maroon. Don’t pick like glossy shiny green, when the maroon is a dull light shade.
Types - Several different types of wallpaper exist, and a lot of this choice is going to depend on it’s application, and your budget. For example Vinyl wallpaper is very durable and is perfect for rooms like kitchens and bathrooms as it can be scrubbed, and will not hold stains. Vinyl-Coated Wallpaper is just like Vinyl Wallpaper however it is not quite as durable and will hold stains. Can you see how the difference between these two styles is going to make a big difference in placement. You might think that having a really expensive custom wallpaper in your kitchen is desirable but when your toddler flings some spaghetti sauce on it, and it stains, you are going to be wishing you had chosen something more practical.
This is only meant to be a rough educational guide on wallpapers. There are several aspects of wallpapers that I didn’t cover. I recommend talking to a professional at a wallpaper store, when it comes time to re-decorate your house. Make sure to ask lots of questions as wallpapers will last time if chosen wisely.

Some years ago, a friend and I walked into a small coffee shop. A man was offering free palm readings, and always intrigued by things beyond the five senses, I sat down and presented my hand with high expectations. After a pause the reader gently said, “you are very angry.” Not exactly what I had in mind. Surely he had to see I’d be a successful performing artist so naturally, he had to be confusing the lines in my hand with someone else’s. What could I, the Queen of Effervescence possibly be angry about? Despite my protests he insisted, and my supposed anger was all he talked about for the brief session.
Fast-forward a few years; I’m artfully navigating the Seas of Life. Things were cool-I was healthy, the bills were getting paid, and the love life was stellar. No major complaints though I couldn’t deny the existence of a quiet undertow of feeling off kilter, a sense of something being wrong without tangible evidence. So I did what a lot of us do, put it aside and focused on the day-to-day operations of my life. But one July 4th I was forced to take a swim in the undertow and come clean.
The city was in the throes of a heat wave and my honey had just left town so I had the place to myself. He was barely gone a day before I was visited by my ultimate phobia. A waterbug. Now, waterbugs are to me what mice, snakes, and spiders are to other people. They cause me to-freak-out! Since my protector was gone I had to slay the monster myself and I wound up screaming and crying like a willful toddler in the terrible two stage. Just pitiful.
Numb, the next day I faced myself. Why had I lost it like that? Yes, I do abhor waterbugs but gees I had carried on! Something was consuming my soul and needed tending to. But what?
As I sat quietly a voice responded, “you are full of rage. I’ve tried to tell you in many ways but you would not listen.” And in that moment, I knew Truth. I was full of pure unfiltered, uranium rage. I was more than frustrated, more than angry; I was a fire-breathing behemoth behind my innocent looking face.
Then Ms. Wise-in-Hymer speaks up, loudly. “Okay, so we admit we’re enraged, but at what pray tell?” For a minute I’m stumped. I have absolutely no clue. Now really, I was in no mood to go deep sea-soul searching. Like most of us, I’ve had my servings of rough and tough times, with one time in particular when it looked like I, the patient wasn’t gonna make it.
A vast amount of inner work got me through that excruciating phase. And now here I was after all that doggone work with yet more to do! I knew it was beyond the obvious, which was the lack of a relationship with my father, but I couldn’t imagine what else it could be…no, it’s NOT POSSIBLE! I gotta be kiddin’ me! How could I be mad at my mother, a woman who had been dead for over thirty years?! My rational mind screamed, “this is preposterous of course you’re mad at your dad! Look at all the stuff he did to you and then had the nerve, the gall to shun you!” But I knew it was integral to the evolution of my being to deny it no longer. I was ticked off because mommy died on me.
All that I endured in my childhood was a direct result of her passing. The step-mom from hell, a tyrannical dad who I think just snapped due to guilt and the sudden loss; loving relatives cast aside and rendered strangers. My entire world was turned upside down and because things moved so fast and furious, I didn’t have the time to mourn my loss. I followed the example of the adults in my life and moved on.
But I had only postponed the inevitable, the How Do I Feel about this life-altering event?? When I finally came to grips with all of this I felt like I had shed a hundred pounds. I am the person I am because of the sum total of my experiences and of that I’m proud. I am thankful for the time I had my mom. The things she taught me in her short time on earth stay in my heart and mind.
Coming to terms with my anger created the freedom to rejoice in being a living product of her. And everyday I look in the mirror I see her, and a happier me.

Looking for a natural voice speech engine? Curious about what software can read your e-mails. Here is the latest TTS (text-to-speach) news.
AT&T Natural Voices
AT&T Natural Voices are available in 16khz or 8khz Versions. The 16khz versions have a richer, fuller sound and are more natural sounding. The 8khz version is slightly less expensive and takes up less disk space, but generally doesn’t sound quite as good. A good analogy might be that 16khz voices sound like voices over FM Radio, while 8khz voices sound much more like voices over the telephone.
NeoSpeech
Kate and Paul are US English voices, available in 16khz or 8khz versions, supporting SAPI5 Speech applications including all NextUp.com Products, most newer TTS programs from other companies, as well as TTS functions built into Windows XP. Each voice requires slightly under 300mb of disk space, and is available on CD or via download. They support speed and pitch adjustments, and require a minimum of Pentium II, 400mhz with 128mb RAM.
TextAloud 2.0

One thing that science has become completely obsessed with is the potential eventuality of Earth being hit by a Near Earth Object such as an Asteroid, Comet or Meteors. Since May 12 some broken fragments have been whizzing by Earth from the Schwassmann Wachmann Comet 73P and one former NASA Space Trainer has stated he believes that on or about May 25 that a large fragment will hit the Mid Atlantic Ridge causing a huge Tsunami. NASA of course says that is simply not possible at all.
Nevertheless we should consider such an eventual potential eventuality and we should have a disaster plan in place and host a fire drill scenario, because 2036 is approaching and we do expect some very close proximity objects to also whiz on by and too close for comfort. Currently we do not have the technology right now to stop such an event if it were to occur you see? Worse off; the Moon if hit would be more vulnerable than Earth and what if it has debris knocked clear which entered our atmosphere?
All these things we need to study and I am thankful that NASA indeed is studying these things along with so many other nations, as it unites us all in a common cause void of war and still allows our economic flows to the defense industry to work on the problem. Perhaps we might consider all this in 2006.

Algebra is the most main subdivision of mathematics. Although at first it may seem to just fly over your head, exercise helps in making understanding things a lot better. pupils will have to study this for many levels, thus it is important to create a strong base from the beginning.
Areas that are Difficult
Algebra includes many fields of study, graphing curves being one of them. This could include charting a circle, graphing systems of non- linear systems of inequalities, graphing inequalities or graphing quadratic equations. Some Other topic that is part of algebra has to do with exponents. This can range from subtracting exponents, dividing exponents or just using the laws of exponents. Rationalizing, factorizing, matrices, hyperbolas and quadratics all have to do with algebra.
It is commonly agreed that algebra is a challenging subject area. However, in today’s day and age that is not a problem as nearly each student is capable of getting to and using a computer. A student can easily use online mathematics computer programs that instruct and test students. For practicing and enhancing accomplishments, there are worksheets available in these software. Online tutors are also accessible and are easy to contact. These tutors charge an hourly rate and tutor students as if they were face to face.
How to Get Help for Algebra
There are a large number of packages that can help students. These computer programs provide bit-by-bit guides to help pupils through their difficulties. These software systems can aid you with your homework, test preparation and even exam preparation! As algebra has a vast number of sub-sections you can pick out software programs that relate to your specific difficulty or problem. This could be quadratic equations, inequalities, functions, or just graphing. Some computer software programs also include games and videos that could further develop your algebraic skills.
Algebra calculators are also available online. They can help solve many types of algebraic questions . Mostly these will include questions that have to do with linear equations or radical inequalities. Various types of calculators help pupils to concentrate on various areas of algebra.
Though these software systems and other aids can aid many pupils master a great number of problems, it is important that they are applied for the right intention. Using these facilities for cheating would only be a loss to yourself. These software are ideally used for double-checking your answers of your assignments rather than using them to complete the actual exams.

The medical profession term an enlarged prostate benign prostate hyperplasia, or BPH. This means that the prostate, a mass which encloses the urethra and is located just beneath the bladder, grows bigger this can reduce or block urination. The prostate grows as the years pass and as a result may engender various ailments for example troubles passing water, a weak stream, and a sense of the bladder still being uncomfortably distended even after urination. Too frequent urination interrupting sleep patterns and inflammation of the urinary system are further problems that can arise due to prostate gland swelling. BPH - What Does that Mean?
Click here and review this incredible source for Roger Mason prostate facts
Prostate swelling is supposed to be one of the more frequent problems of men over 60. Recommendations are that men over 50 undergo examination by their doctors annually, irrespective of the occurence of any problems, for the upkeep of prostate health. Inability to micturate or the presence of blood during micturition is a signal to seek immediate medical treatment. Surgical procedures or medicines are common interventions for an enlarged prostate. Nevertheless, erection troubles and even loss of normal bladder control can be observed as a result of surgery. Hypertension drugs or drugs to reduce the prostate can also be given to improve prostate gland function, but medicine will frequently have negative repercussions. Which options are available?
Enlarged Prostate Symptoms? Discover Alternative Therapies to a More Healthy Prostate Gland
To promote better prostate function and ease the symptoms brought on by an enlarged prostate, a few formulae can be suggested. Inflammation may be controlled by the remedy Afican pygeum, alleviating many of any symptoms. A product of the fruit of an African evergreen tree, African pygeum has been used on a large scale in Europe for a number of years as a formula to further better prostate gland health. Cutting Back the dietary fats can improve symptoms, so will excercising more, an increased frequency of ejaculations to alleviate pressure in the prostate gland, and trying to cut out sitting for a long time. Symptoms can be worsened by using antihistamines or decongestants purchased over the counter, so consume these with care. Reduction of caffeine and alcoholic beverage intake, avoid drinking near retiring for the night this should decrease night time lavatory trips. There’s also a vast selection of other alternative remedies being used to improve prostatic function — such as saw palmetto, Borago officinalis oil, selenium, and lycopene, which can be found in tomatoes. Before commencing any alternative treatment regime take care to check with your doctor.

Interior decorating is that medium which can make your closed spaces convey to the observer a lot about you and your lifestyle through strategic use of elements which range from the visual (color, lighting, form) to the tactile (surface, shape, texture) to the auditory (noise, echo). The more alluring the result, the more the aesthetic, practical and technical appreciation for these elements the designer must have. He or she must understand how people use and respond to these elements, not just individually but as the elements interact with one another. Confusing? Not really! For at the bottom, all one needs is to know what one wants to show off to the world from the precincts of ones space. That is why home interior decorating becomes an easier task since one can identify with its needs more easily.
Original ideas can make a significant difference in your Interior Decorating plans.
Ideally, one should work from a total interior design plan. However, don’t be hesitant! Try and be responsive to our own creative “hunches.” When decorating your home, don’t just go piecemeal from room to room. Work up a plan for the entire home, including budget and timetable. As you go along, you can be on the lookout for interior decorating ideas. Believe me these make a lot of difference. For instance, pictures should be hung at eye level; accessories are noticed better in odd-numbered groups - it’s just a matter of balance; paint can be used to minimize structural defects and accentuate positive features. And most important - do not fear to experiment. After all, “Home” was not built in a day!
