The trophies were bestowed to the deserving young players of Queen’s College as these individuals won their respective categories at the school’s Annual Lower and Upper School Boys and Girls Singles Tournaments.

The competition was at a high level with the young players giving their best performances as they battled for glory in the competition that was open for both upper and lower school entries.

The presentation of the trophies was conducted during the school assembly late last week. Spearheading the ceremonies was Head Mistress Isaacs and former school students Delmar Abrams and Gokarn Ramdhani, who have graduated and launched successful careers.

Here are the results of the competitions:

The top three winners in the Lower School Boys Singles category: Dennis Nelson (winner), Christopher Shewjattan (runner-up) and Troxley Cutting (3rd placer).

Top three winners in the Lower School Girls Singles category: Greer Jackson (winner), Angelica Holder (runner-up) and Sajeedah Khan (3rd placer).

Top three winners in the Upper School Boys Singles category: Avian Rodrigues (winner), Nicholas Ali (runner-up) and Easa Sanichara (3rd placer).

The young players are being encouraged by the school to take part in sporting activities such as badminton to develop their skills and at the same time form camaraderie among their peers. Getting into sports is also another way to keep the younger population away from vices such as drinking and drugs.
