Ben Barnes: A True American Democrat

Filed under: Biz — admin @ 2:51 pm

Throughout his political career, Ben Barnes of Austin, Texas made it clear where he stood in American politics. A Democrat since the glory days of the Democratic Party in Texas, Ben Barnes remains loyal to its ideals until this very day. For his ardent support and contribution to the goals and objectives of the party, Ben Barnes is affectionately dubbed as “the 51st Democratic Senator” by colleagues and party mates.

Ben Barnes first ran for office in 1960 when he was early into his 20s, following his exposé on financial wrongdoing that resulted to the indictment of the Texas State Health Department Commissioner. Winning in a shocking upset, the charismatic Ben Barnes of Austin, Texas became popular among Texas voters and legislators alike. He was elected Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives at the age of 26. He even gained the favor of fellow Democrat, President Lyndon Johnson, who hailed him as “the next American President.”

In 1969, the Lone Star State gave Ben Barnes of Austin, Texas a landslide election victory for the office of Lt. Governor. Considered a powerful position that can override some of the State Governor’s privileges, Ben Barnes initiated lasting reforms in labor, rights and education until his exit in 1973.

Today, Ben Barnes continuously supports the Democratic Party, acting as contributor, lobbyist and political consultant.
